Thermotherapy & Cryotherapy

Thermotherapy consists of the application of superficial heat. Heat is applied with the purpose to improve range of motion, reduce stiffness, and increase circulation. Heat therapy may be performed using hot packs, warm water, infrared lights and various other methods.

Cryotherapy consists of the application of superficial cold. Cold is applied with the purpose to reduce pain and inflammation. Procedures using cold therapy include cold compressions, ice baths, ice massage and more.
